Our story
This building is part of Naples urban redevelopment project known as the Risanamento , consisting of structures built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The "Risanamento houses" are recognizable for some details:
- monumental 19th century architectural facades
- regular and symmetrical balconies
- inner courtyards
- liberty or umbertine decorations
- large apartments with high ceilings
In neapolitan culture , the title "Don" (at the feminine "Donna") has historically been a mark of respect, deeply rooted in the social traditions of Southern Italy and especially Naples.
Used mainly as a social form of respect toward elders, well-off families , heads of households , or influential figures in the neighborhood. This is where the idea of naming our property Don Carlo comes from. Don Carlo .
